About Our Facilities

In addition to being conveniently located close to both Route 95 and downtown Providence, the Eastside Early Learning Center benefits from its park-like surroundings on the campus of Butler Hospital. We have plenty of parking for drop-off and pick-up, as well as for family events. We use our physical space to enhance the children’s comfort as well as their learning experiences.

Outdoor Space
Weather permitting, we encourage outdoor play as often as possible, as we know children benefit from fresh air and the opportunity to develop gross motor skills. The center has two outdoor playgrounds for age-appropriate play. The infant and toddler area features ride-on toys, slides and climbing toys, a sandbox, a painting easel, balls, and other developmentally appropriate toys. There is also a brand new deck for the non-mobile infants to enjoy the fresh air by lying on a blanket or sitting in a swing. The preschool area has similar equipment and toys, with the addition of a swing set—all geared to preschool children. Our outdoor space also includes a small garden, which is tended to by the children. They plant and care for a variety of vegetables each spring, and enjoy harvesting and tasting what they have grown over the summer and fall months.

Indoor Space
Our building, with vaulted ceilings and plenty of natural light, is organized to create a home-like environment. Each age group has their own area for the children to play, eat and rest. The infant cribs are located directly in the classroom and are always monitored by the teachers. The toddler room includes areas for both free play and structured activities. The preschool areas feature dynamic learning centers for dramatic play, literacy, math and science, block play, and creative arts.
